Policy
Slippurinn operations must be organized in such a manner that the safety and health of employees is not threatened. Concerted efforts are made to reduce the impact of the Company's operations on its internal and external environment. Slippurinn is aware of its external environment, ensuring healthy and safe working environment and protecting their personnel, equipment and valuables for injuries and damages. Activities and operations of the company follow all applicable laws and regulations that apply to each case.
Negative environmental impact of operations is minimized by:
• Defining annual measurable environmental objectives, monitoring performance and recording of environmental accounting to ensure continuous improvement in environmental issues.
• Promote better use of resources, less wastage of raw materials and increased reuse and recycling.
• Seeking to choose environmentally friendly products and services.
• Ensure that all staff at Slippurinn know and follow the company’s safety, health and environmental policy and business objectives.
It is important to reduce energy use in transport and at the same time reduce greenhouse gas emissions and waste from combustion of fossil fuels.
Slippurinn therefore encourages employees:
• To optimize trips on the companies behalf with that goal in mind
• For environment-friendly travel to and from work and contributing to it if possible.
Slippurinn focuses on a safe and healthy work environment for its employees.
Weight
Values and policies of safety, health and environment must always be applied in the debate relating to the company. Priorities and objectives of safety, health and environment shall have the same weight as other main goals of the business in decision-making, such as financial and operational goals.
Warranty
Prevention works in the company aims to make real the goal of no accidents and minimize the impact the operation makes on the internal and external environment. Managers at all levels are responsible for implementing and supporting the safety, health and environmental policy (EHS), the company effectively at all times. Managers must promote general safety awareness of employees through education and determination. Managers must work closely with their employees with designs and solutions of EHS issues.
Scope
All Slippurinn employees, subcontractor’s employees and visitors, are obligated follow the safety codes at Slippurinn, protect their own safety and others while they work or reside within the premises of Slippurinn. Personal responsibility of the individual is always present.
Setup
EHS issues are managed by the EHS-manager of the company. In addition there is a safety committee in the company consisting of two security guards appointed by the management company and two safety representatives elected by employees of the company.
